Thomas Ablum
With over 20 years’ experience in corporate Finance, Mr. Ablum has extensive expertise in direct investing, private placements of debt and equity, leveraged buyouts, securitization, asset-based financing, work-outs, strategic planning, financial structuring, initial public offerings of debt and equity securities, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Before forming Ablum Brown & Company in 1988, he was co-head of corporate finance at Rodman & Renshaw, Inc. There, he sourced deals, arranged financing for management buyouts, acquisitions and private placements, performed valuations and underwrote public securities. At Borg-Warner Acceptance Corporation, he was responsible for leveraged leasing and specialty leasing departments and while head of the corporate finance team also undertook workouts of problem loans, establishing captive finance companies, prior to leading the corporate finance Mr. Ablum was responsible for the issuance of all corporate debt and the direction of the $2 billion commercial paper program. Previously, he held various financial and analytical positions at Household International and at Walgreens Corporation. Mr. Ablum received an M.B.A. with a specialization in accounting from DePaul University and a B.S. in finance and marketing from the University of Illinois.
